Painting inside

Finally getting some real paint on the walls instead of just primer!  I decided to go with a neutral tan, it's warm and more interesting than plain white.  My dad was nice enough to help me out by painting while I did other projects, like tile and painting the kitchen cabinets.

Also put up new ceiling fans.

All the cabinet doors I had to paint.

From Pin Holes to Fist Holes...Fixing Sheetrock

I've heard from talking with the neighbors that a 17 year-old was allowed to live in the house by himself after his parents moved out.  You know what that means, party city!  Apparently, he and his friends like to punch holes in the wall, as well as spray what looks like soda on the walls.  Actually there were many different substances on the walls that remain unidentified.  Fortunately, my mom and aunt came over and helped me by wiping down ALL the walls in the house.  Yup, they were all dirty.  I started doing some drywall repair in the kitchen before they came so I wiped those walls down myself and took a picture.

I also started repairing the many other areas of damaged drywall.  I'm not done with the mudding and taping in this picture, but they are all patched.

So many little scuffs, bumps, and pin holes.  Every room was like this.

Fist Holes

This is how it was when I bought it.

There used to be a door there on the left, they ripped it out for me.  Add that to the list of things to fix.

I ripped all the old off and put up new.

Taped, mudded, and sanded.  Ready for paint. I've spent, literally, the last 2 months working on drywall throughout the house.  I'm so glad to be done.
