Laminate Flooring

I decided to lay laminate flooring throughout the first floor with the exception of the tiled areas, like the kitchen.  I found my flooring at Habitat's Restore.  It was a good price and I was able to get a thicker laminate for the price of the thinner stuff anywhere else.  The thicker stuff sounds better when you walk on it, not so hollow sounding.  They had a couple of choices, but I wanted something warm so I chose "Honeyed Walnut".  I did find out when I was laying it why it was at Restore.  There were several pieces with flaws.  In fact, I ended up with 4 whole boxes of flawed pieces in the end, not to mention the pieces I used by cutting them.  That's really not too bad, though, when I bought 48 boxes.

Not much to see here except where I used Kilz on the floor to make sure no odors come through.

Putting down the underlayment.

Not too bad once you get started.  Hard on your knees, though.

You can see the finished floor when I post my final pictures.  Coming soon!
